Fluffy sponge cake that I can’t stop eating it.
Ingredients
80 g Flour
10 g Cornstarch
75 ml Vegetable Oil
60 ml Milk
6 eggs
6 Tbsp Sugar
1/4 tsp Salt
1/4 tsp Cream of Tartar
Preheat oven 300F
Prepare water bath: Put a large pan fill with 1/2 inch of water into the oven. Make sure it’s large enough for the 8x8 baking pan for the cake
- Separate egg whites and egg yolks
- Heat up the vegetable oil in microwave for 1 minute
- In mixing bowl, mix together flour, cornstarch and salt
- Pour hot oil into flour mixture and whisk until smooth
- Mix milk into the flour batter then add egg yolks and mix well
- In a clean bowl, whisk egg whites, cream of tartar and sugar until stiff peak
- Fold egg yolk flour batter into egg white until incorporated
- Line a 8x8 baking pan with parchment paper
- Pour batter into the lined baking pan
- Bake in water bath for 1 hr
- Cake is done when the top is golden brown and you insert a tooth pick at the center and it comes out clean
