Braised Beef Tendon in Sichuan Chili Oil (麻辣牛筋)




Ingredient:

2 lb          Beef Tendon (cut into 2 inch pieces)
5 slices    Ginger
2              Green Onion
1 whole   Garlic
                Water (enough to cover all the beef tendon)

Sauce:
2 Tbsp    Sichuan Chili Oil
2 Tbsp    Soy Sauce
1 Tbsp    Sesame Oil
1 Tbsp    Sesame Seeds

Method:

  1. In a heavy pot, boil water with ginger, green onion and garlic
  2. Add beef tendon into water and cook until tender (about 2 hours)
  3. In a small bowl, mix together sichuan chili oil, soy sauce and sesame oil 
  4. Add the cooked beef tendon into the sauce and mix well 

  5. Put the beef tendon in the refrigerator and cool overnight
  6. When ready to eat, top with sesame seeds
