Japanese Shabu Shabu

Feeling lazy and just want a one pot meal?  This Shabu Shabu one pot meal is the perfect solution.


Ingredients:
1 box  Firm Tofu
1/2 lb  Thinly sliced beef for hot pot (you will find it pre-sliced in Asian supermarket)
1 pkg  Fish Cakes or Fish Balls
2 cups  Chicken Stock
5-6 leaves Napa Cabbage

Method:

  1. Cut napa cabbage into 2 inch pieces, then line the bottom of the pan
  2. Arrange sliced tofu, fish cake, fish ball and beef (or basically anything you like) on the cabbage
  3. Pour chicken stock into pan, then turn on the heat
  4. It's done and ready to serve once the meat is cooked
Serve hot with your favorite dipping sauce.  I usually just dip in soy sauce with chili oil.  Perfect for a cold night and cleaning is minimum.

You can even make a spicy version by adding some Korean kimchi.
