Ingredients:
1 lb Prawns
2 cups Broccoli
2 Tbsp Thai Sweet Chili Sauce
1 tsp Salt
1 tsp White Pepper
1/2 cup Cornstarch
1 Tbsp Sesame Seeds (optional)
1 cup Vegetable Oil
1 tsp Chopped Garlic
1 tsp Chopped Ginger
Method:
- Peeled the prawns and devein the prawns
- Clean the prawns and rise under running water for 5 minutes. This will make the prawns with better texture
- Season the prawns with salt and pepper
- Cook the broccoli until soft or to your liking. Set aside.
- Dust the prawns with cornstarch until well coated. You can also put the cornstarch and prawns into a paper bag and shake the bag until every prawn is well coated with cornstarch but not too thick
- I use a small sauce pot to fry the prawns so I can use less oil. Heat the oil in medium high heat then fry the prawns until cooked and golden.
- Heat up a sauce pan in medium high heat. Stir fry the ginger and garlic until fragrant
- Add Thai chili sauce into the pan, then add the fried prawns
- Stir fry until all the prawns are coated with the sauce
- Plate it with broccoli and sprinkle sesame seeds
